Quote:
A survey in England came very striking results forward.
In a trial were overweight people for three months in the wilderness to learn to move.
This ranged from tai chi to walking.

Another group was in the same period to the gym.
The difference was obvious.
Of the group that was moving in the open air
90 percent after three months persist in walking and so.
Less than 30 percent who went to the gym still sports after these period .

Now, Staatsbosbeheer wants doctors to stimulate their overweight patients
to send walking, running or mountain biking in the nature in.
Volunteers or even foresters would obesitaspatiënten can help their first steps in nature.

A great idea, I think,
you see something of the beautiful surroundings,
it costs almost nothing and it is healthy for your body.
I like walking in the woods... (:D

On the national website of Dutch hospitals was the following to read:

Quote:
More and more people are overweight. According to the Dutch Nutritioncenter is certainly half of all adults are overweight. In 1 out of 10 cases is even talk of obesity, severe obesity. In addition, children are becoming increasingly too fat. Right now goes for about 15% of the children that they are overweight.

For the overweight tackling, a healthy lifestyle is obviously important. Healthy eating and heard enough to move here certainly. But it is also possible to use drugs to lose weight. This method appears to be quite popular, because there is a strong growth in the use of these medicines to lose weight visible. Compared to 2006 it is expected that the number of prescribed medication 32% higher. These drugs be made available to doctors and they will not be reimbursed from the basic. Only one additional insurance, you may qualify for coverage.

Given the increasing number of adults and children are overweight, there started to events from the government with social partners to the problem of overweight together to tackle. Therefore, in the Covenant Overweight measures aimed at healthy eating and drinking and moving enough.

Tip!
Healthy lifestyle: move enough, not smoking, relaxation and healthy eating.
Healthy eating includes a varied menu. Meat fit very well!

I have not and shall not use medication too lose weight.
Certainly not one of the very commercial products.
If a doctor prescribe me some, I also shall refuse.
I believe more in the healthy lifestyle, although this isn't always easy.

Has a forum member used medication for losing weight yet?
Or planned to.
What is your experience?
What is the opinion of using medications... :S

Good news !!! (:D

Today I read in the newspaper and the internet the following:

Quote:
Bread and snacks more and more healthier
A little bread croquette, hamburger or hotdog unhealthy? By using liquid fats for baking and frying these nowadays are not as harmful to health as well as ever.

The food industry is aware that saturated fatty acids are bad for the heart and blood vessels. Therefore, there is less and less of these 'bad fats' used for making biscuits, cakes, waffles and patisserie. Also, the trans and saturated fatty acids blocked at the fried fat.

This is demonstrated by a survey about 2007 that the Task Force has published.

I like these snacks too much, so this is good news to me. :D

What about you.
Do you now dare to eat such an healthy snack extra,
or don't you eat these kind of snacks at all
and the only snack you take is some fruit...

Daily. it should be healthy to drink at least 1,5 litre water.
Not including coffee, thea, juice or other drinks. Just clear water.

I must be aware to drink it.
I know it's decreasing my appetit.
So I drink a glass or two before every meal.
Water has also a cleaning effect.
That motivates me. :)-D

I wunder,

How often do you measure your weight?
Once a day, every two days, weekly?

Too frequent - It's hard to see the real progress.
Too seldom - I start worrying how things are going.

When I was on diet I measured it twice per week: on Friday - before the weekend, and on Monday - after the weekend :)-D

When using a balance daily,
it can be frustrated if your weight is not losing,
even worse: you're gaining weight :X

But nowadays there are balances that measures also you body fat.
It can stimulate you to see that the body fat % decreases slowly.

So I would advice:
not only record your weight,
but your body fat % also. ;)

I have just simple diet:

EATING LESS.

No specified diets for me like Atkins and so on.
It won't help me.
After a good start I gave up after several months (or weeks >:D<)
And of course I gain weight rapidly.

So I just eat what I like,
but do less.
Important for me is to write it down.
The UTS applications helps me to record. (tu)
